Biometric consent
IMIGZ beta · consent form version 1.0 · effective October 31, 2026This is the full text of the consent that IMIGZ beta participants agree to in the app before their first progress photo or body scan. The app shows a condensed version and records which version you acknowledged; the complete form is published here so you can read it any time. Our biometric retention and destruction policy is in the privacy policy.
You are joining the imigz beta, and part of the program involves measuring your body composition over time. Some of those measurements use technology that captures images or video of your body ("body scans"). This form explains exactly what is captured, who processes it, where it is kept, how long, and your rights. No scan or photo will be taken before you sign.
1. What is captured, and by whom
Body scans use Prism Labs, a third-party body-scanning service: you prop your phone up, stand back in fitted clothing, and follow a guided slow turn while the camera records. The recording is uploaded from your phone directly to Prism Labs' servers, which reconstruct a 3D model and derive measurements: body-fat %, lean mass, fat mass, visceral fat estimate, metabolic age and circumferences. imigz's server, not your phone, handles the arrangements with Prism Labs: it registers you with Prism under a random identifier (no name, no email — only your sex, birth year, height and weight), requests each scan and collects the results. After each scan, imigz downloads the 3D model of your body that Prism Labs creates and shows it to you in the app; the model includes the shape of your head and face, and because it contains face geometry, imigz treats it as a biometric identifier. Separately, the beta involves progress photos you take yourself in the app, weekly weight entries, and optionally a clinical DEXA scan whose results you share.
2. Why we collect it
One purpose: tracking your progress toward your goal and improving how the imigz app measures and presents it. Never advertising, never sold, never used to judge or score appearance. If you join a clique, its members see your display name, the event the clique is counting down to, whether you showed up each day, your streak and weekly rate, boosts, your emoji reactions and replies, and any photo you choose to post there with a caption; if you turn on the Apple Health sharing options in Settings, they also see that you trained that day and, with the second option, the kind of workout, its length and any note you write — never your weight, calories, scan results, 3D model or progress photos.
3. Where it lives, retention and deletion
- Scan numbers and weigh-ins are stored in your imigz account on our servers in the United States, so they survive a new phone, and are kept for the beta plus 90 days, then deleted unless you ask otherwise.
- Progress photos and your 3D body models are stored only on your phone, in the app's private storage: excluded from iCloud and device backups, protected while the phone is locked, never uploaded to imigz or anyone else. The app can assemble two of your progress photos into a before-and-after image (your “IMIGZ”) for you to share. Sharing is your choice and happens through your phone, not through imigz. A comparison image you send is a copy you control; imigz does not receive it, and this consent and our privacy policy do not apply to what the receiving app or service does with it. Photos are deleted immediately when you sign out, delete your data in the app, or withdraw this consent; a model is also deleted when its scan is deleted from your account, and in any event no later than one year after you leave the beta. They do not transfer to a new phone.
- Capture video is biometric data too. It is sent to Prism Labs only under imigz's data processing agreement with them and their data terms, which you review before your first scan; imigz retains no copy of the video. Before your first scan the app also shows Prism Labs' own two consent screens: one you must accept for Prism to process the scan, and one, optional, asking whether Prism may keep your images and scans to improve its technology; declining the second changes nothing about your scans, and you can change the answer in Settings → Body scan. Prism Labs also keeps the 3D model and measurements it produced for you. Deleting your imigz account deletes your record and all of your scans at Prism Labs as well.
- The random identifier that links your imigz account to Prism Labs is kept on imigz's server and deleted with your account.
- Meal photos for the food-scan feature are analyzed and immediately discarded — never stored.
Settings → Delete everything deletes everything immediately; a request by email is honored within 30 days. imigz's biometric retention and destruction policy is published at imigz.com/privacy.
4. Your rights
Voluntary — decline any scan or photo, pause, or leave the beta at any time without losing program access. Full export of your account data from Settings or on request. Scans are cadence-limited as a health-safety guardrail: at most one a day during the beta, and about every two weeks after it. You may withdraw this consent at any time in Settings; the photo and scan features switch off and the photos and models on your phone are deleted. Residents of Illinois, Texas, Washington, the EU/UK, or other biometric-law jurisdictions may have additional statutory rights; this consent is intended to satisfy written-consent requirements including Illinois BIPA, and the retention schedule above is the schedule for that purpose.
5. Acknowledgment
I have read this form. I understand what will be captured, that Prism Labs processes scans on imigz's behalf and imigz's server arranges that processing under a random identifier, where each kind of data is kept and for how long, and how to have it deleted. I consent to the collection and processing of my biometric data as described, for the beta's progress-tracking purpose only.
